Hello, hello my focus seeking friends. Happy September. September always feels like a time of transition for me. We are transitioning out of summer and for many that's getting back into a more regular routine. People's schedules seem to change, especially if you see clients.
00:00:56
It seems like every client needs to change the time that they come in for appointments. Commitments are added and as the weather changes, it begins to transition to more cozy clothes and soups, which I love. I feel like it's a natural time to reassess things in our lives and businesses and address some stuff before we head into a much more hectic holiday season. When you think back to January and the plans and goals that you made for the year, where are you at with those? Are you feeling great about what you've accomplished and feel on track?
00:01:28
Or are you one of the many people who feel like times keep slipping by you as you deal with all that life keeps throwing at you and never making headway on those bigger plans or goals in your business? If you're in the second camp, you are certainly not alone. Life is hectic and we are being pulled in so many directions and it can feel like we're constantly dealing with competing priorities on the daily. It's understandable. However, if you're tired of pushing back those goals and dreams and ready to get some support that actually helps you get things done, then I invite you to take a look at the GSD Incubator.
00:02:06
The Incubator is a hybrid coaching and accountability program that helps you get the clarity you need on your goals and priorities and helps you create the systems, mindset and habits to make sure you. We are accepting a few more members and when it's full, it will be closed until at least January as we only accept ten people in each cohort and it's a six month program. So if you're at all interested, I encourage you to book a call with me ASAP to see if this transformational program is the right fit for you.

00:03:18
It's mastering SEO, an easy five step formula for getting found by the right folks. From Jen McFarland, who is the CEO and principal consultant at Women Conquer Business, a small business marketing consultancy. She is also the very special guest I have on today's podcast episode. So let's jump in and talk SEO. I almost think we should have just giggles for, like, five minutes before I even acknowledge your existence.
00:03:49
Just to let it out, or we. Just let it out. I think we keep all of this in. Keep it all in, Daniel. Keep it all in.
00:03:55
We're just going to giggle. We're going to giggle, which is ironic because my special guest today is my. Lovely friend Jen, who is baller AF, as she says. You're here to talk about SEO. So you love abbreviations, but really more than SEO.
00:04:13
The abbreviation you do better than SEO is RBF. RBF. Yep. RBF. So it's funny that you giggle because.
00:04:23
You are the master of RBF, but see, that's the thing. People think that that's what it is, but it's really my concentraty face.
00:04:36
My concentraty face.
00:04:40
Concentrate and smile. That's a no go. Yeah, sometimes that's creepy. I get it. However, I'm going to say you actually are RBC is what I told you.
00:04:51
You have resting bitch communication.
00:04:55
You have a very dry, sarcastic humor. And sometimes I feel like I need to translate for people because you're in my membership, and they probably are like, oh, my God, she hates amber. And I have to be like, this. Is just RBF gone awry. Yeah.
00:05:13
RBC gone. Awry. Do not worry, people. She's okay. Well, anyway, other than teaching people, this.
00:05:23
Isn'T how we start. What do you mean? Like, come on. Really? I mean, is there any better way out there?
00:05:32
If you're listening, you know, you either are the friend with RBF or you have a friend with RBF. You know who doesn't have RBF? ENFPs. Actually, that's not true. When we don't like something, you see it all over our face.
00:05:48
Okay, we're going to stop throwing out initials. I'm an INFP, and I think it's that maybe I have introverted faith. That's actually what it is. Concentration. Yes.
00:06:04
Oh, my God. So thank you for coming to the show. Thank you for listening and good night and good luck. You're going to be found on Google. Don't worry about it.
00:06:16
Exactly. Just type in Jen McFarland. SEO. RBF. RBC INFP WCB.
00:06:28
I wasn't just going to say WTF what's WCB? Women Conquer business. Oh, yeah. Okay, well, there's the plug. So we're officially back in go mode.
00:06:37
Or in go mode. Boom. Well, I'm very excited to have you. On because, as you know, I think you're amazing, even if you have RBF. To the M.
00:06:49
Thank you. But recently we both spoke at the she Podcast Live conference, and I attended your session and really, really loved how you broke down and talked about SEO in such a relatable way. Coming from a tech background, I feel pretty comfortable with a lot of the tech stuff and SEO. But so many people, I mean, this isn't their wheelhouse. This isn't what they do for a living, right?
00:07:15
They're business owners, and their specialties are something else. And so I think it's really refreshing when you have somebody that can take a concept that's very intimidating for some or unknown or complex and really say it in such a relatable way. So that is why I wanted you to come on, to enlighten the masses. And if you need to see this. RBF, by the way, this is also.
00:07:40
Recorded on video, so you could head. On over to YouTube. Although now you're giving the opposite of RBF. It's such like, be congruent. Jen, would you like me to I can give you the face I give when I come onto zoom calls.
00:07:54
Yes, please.
00:07:58
For those of you who are listening, I'm looking down super serious face and have my head resting on my microphone. It's not attractive in any way whatsoever. The thing about it's kind of my specialty, and it's like one of my challenges as a marketer is how do you market yourself as somebody who's a good translator? And that's really the thing. When I was in tech, I was a tech translator.
00:08:23
I would take my whole job was. Like, going from the customer to the. Developer and being like, okay, here's what they want. And then the developer would be like, no, that's not possible. And I'd be like, Is it though?
00:08:36
And we would talk about it, and then I'd go back to the customer. And so my whole job was making sure that people understood. And I think that as somebody who is very comfortable navigating the big picture down to the details, it's kind of a natural thing. When you get a lot of questions, then you're like, okay, well, how can I talk about this in a way that makes sense to people? Because if you don't understand what search.
00:08:57
Engine optimization optimization or SEO is, then. You have a gap in your marketing that you don't know what you're missing or why it's important. And it doesn't have to be super technical. It doesn't have to be hard. It's just nobody's good at explaining it.
00:09:15
Yeah, I would agree. And it's interesting. I used to work between the engineering and marketing. That's translation right there, my friend.
00:09:29
But yeah, I would say there's so. Many misconceptions about SEO, and I would see people really either throwing away money because they really didn't fully understand it, and just kind of believing whatever guru told them and kind of like, okay, I'm all in. And that pisses me off, because these are well intentioned business owners just trying to make a living, and they're being kind of ripped off when they don't understand, but also understanding the importance of investing in that. Right. There are really good reputable people who do SEO.
00:10:06
I want to put that out there. Yeah, but there's some where you're like, oh, my, that's quite yeah, I mean. SEO is one of the things that is red hat or white hat. And the red hat folks are the people who are the scam artists. It's like buying followers for social media.
00:10:24
You know, that that's a bad idea. And there's the same thing that happens with SEO. The thing that's hard to discern is whether or not you have the white hat person who is legitimate and knows what they're doing or the person who doesn't. And that's one of the things that. Gets because nobody has time as a.
00:10:40
Business owner, you don't have time. It's like the way that I feel about finances, I'm like, I know it's important. I know I need to learn more. And also, it's not my zone of Jenius at all, and so it's the thing that I have to hire somebody for, but I also still have to. Have intelliJent questions to ask so that.
00:10:58
I don't end up being taken advantage of. And I would say that in marketing in Jeneral, if you don't understand something, then you need to find that translator who can come in and be like. Okay, this is what it is. This is why it's important, and this is how it works. And a lot of times that's what I do is I'm building frameworks around, okay, what's SEO?
00:11:18
Well, it's answering customer questions again and again and again until you're tired of it, and then you do it again after that. And the reason you do that is so that then if I go to your social media, if I go to your website, if I go to your Google business profile, I'm seeing the same messaging. I understand what you do and who you are, and that's fundamentally what marketing is. But in particular, that's what SEO is, because you're using your customers words to describe your services, because that's what they're searching for. That's really what it is.
00:11:49
And nobody talks about it like that. No, they don't. That's why I loved it. It was so refreshing. And you could tell that people you could tell that for some people, it was the first time it made sense.
00:12:03
See, and I couldn't see in your. Presentation because it was like, I'm doing my course. Totally. Totally. And I had my assistant Alanti on there, who's great, she's amazing.
00:12:15
She was helping to guide people through things, and so I wasn't necessarily as hard because it was online. So you can't see everybody's reactions. But the feedback I got afterwards was like, I kind of get it. I've watched it a couple of times. You showed where to put the information in the fields and all that kind of thing, because the other thing that.
00:12:35
SEO really is, they give you the spaces. It's like when we were in grade school and you just had to fill out the piece of paper and you would get like five points for your name. That's what SEO is. It's like, if there's a place for a description, will you put the description. In there for a picture or for.
00:12:52
A web page or whatever? And you describe it legitimately as what it is. But then it also is what helps people when they're doing searches, finding it. And there are all kinds of different. Tricks that you can use to help.
00:13:04
Guide people into, like, oh, okay, I see it now, how SEO works. But you're getting messages all the time from clients and potential clients about what it is that they are looking for. How they describe it, and it's probably different from how you describe it. For example, you are a therapist and you know all these modalities that people talk about. Well, I'm not searching for a specific modality necessarily, but maybe I know I have ADHD, and I need to find somebody who can help me control it.
00:13:43
And then you have a membership where you're trying to reach certain people who are maybe very distracted, but maybe there's so many different ways of describing that, and you need to find the way that your people are looking for it. Maybe it's frazzled. You don't know. You have to add all of those words. I mean, one of the best jokes.
00:14:03
About SEO is like, an SEO walks. Into a bar, a tavern, a club, a joint. You just use all the different words to describe it. That's how it works. You're always trying to find the different ways for describing what it is that you do.
00:14:20
As a business owner, you don't have. The time that I do to go in the weeds and do all that research, because I love it to figure out all the different ways. But what you do have time for. Is to read your testimonials and listen. To how people are describing what it is that you do and then taking.
00:14:35
That and going, oh, maybe I should. Rename this service that is just this clever name and make it what it. Is people actually think it is. And then I can make more sales. Yes.
00:14:48
Oh, my gosh. You know, some of the stuff you've just said is like my soapbox that I love to stand on all the time, because when I'm working with therapists, I work with a lot of therapists in their business, and I'm like, nobody gives a shit about your modality. They don't give a fuck. They want to know how you can help them, right? And so, like you're saying, I do that all the time when I'm in sessions with people or on discovery calls or whatever, I write down the keywords that they're saying to me.
00:15:22
I mean, I write down phrases or things that they say that kind of stick in my mind, especially when people word things in certain ways. And it's like, that's so helpful. Also, this is so random. The reason I'm thinking of it is because today I just did that AI training in the membership. And so I actually have a friend.
00:15:40
Who did this where she took a bunch of different testimonials that she received and put them in Chat GPT and asked for themes and it brought out keywords and stuff, right? So that's just a random. I have to throw that one in there. But no, I mean, and that's how we use these tools. That's the thing.
00:15:59
You can't use AI to write all your blog posts and expect to get traction. It might work for a while, but then what happens is Chat GPT is just regurgitating other content that's out there. You have to infuse it with what's special about you. And then that's the secret sauce of how SEO works. Using Chat GPT for all of that information.
00:16:21
Like you could upload all of your testimonials in there and get all the themes. That's what it was made for. It was made for that, like all of the stuff that you don't have time to look at and then it analyzes it for you. I mean, that's totally what it can do. I use chat GPT for SEO all the time.
00:16:37
I have a couple of prompts that will Jenerate a grid. And it's like for this industry, use these keywords because different keywords mean different things. And if you know anything about like a sales funnel, the keywords map to your sales funnel in different levels. So you can have what we call a top of the funnel keyword, which would be kind of like the broad stuff, how do I start a membership? And that's like very broad, very Jeneral.
00:17:09
You're not going to get a lot of conversions out of that unless you're. Selling how to build a membership. But most people aren't selling that really Jeneral thing. They're trying to get maybe somebody into a membership about memberships. And so you want to get more and more specific.
00:17:24
So there's like informational, there's navigational, which is you're looking something up. And so if you think about it, when you're searching, you'll realize this sometimes you're just looking for how to do something. You're never going to buy a thing from that person again. You just wanted the cake recipe and you're moving on. Other times it's navigational, you're trying to get to something more specific.
00:17:45
So maybe you end up on a directory and you find that person that you're actually going to buy from. And then we start getting more into things that are more conversion related. After that, some of the other keywords are transactional and conversions, which is when you're closer to buying. And that's the importance of things like having testimonials on your sales pages and having clear pricing and what it is people are getting. Because when people are getting to that place where they want to make a purchase, those are the things that they're looking for.
00:18:13
And so there are different keywords that map to every part of your funnel. That's why if you have a blog, you can't have every post just about how to do that thing. You have to get more specific because then that's how you start to drive business and conversions. Does that make sense? And a lot of people don't understand that.
00:18:33
And there's different words that we use when we're like, no, I don't care about I'm never going to design my own social media strategy. I want a social media strategist who will do that for me. And those searches are different. And so that's what you have to key into. And that's how you know if you're dealing with a legit SEO person or not.
00:18:53
They know that there are different types of keywords that map to certain types of actions that people are trying to. Take when they're looking for websites. The thing about AI that makes SEO so difficult is right now we're all kind of like, okay, so what's going to happen? Because now they're talking. Now there's like, AI search.
00:19:15
You can go to perplexity AI. They're working on it with Google. You can go in and test it, know, certainly Bing is doing it as well. And you can test out AI search. It's been all over the know in.
00:19:29
Terms of accuracy, but what it really. Looks like for the future. I was just at an SEO conference and they were walking us through, showing us the whole thing with Grumpy Cat, which was like the best example ever because it's just hilarious. But it just shows that those top. Of the funnel things are going away.
00:19:49
At some point. AI is going to take all that. Away, where it's like they're going to. Send you to the top ranking websites or how to do things, how to do basic research. It's just going to show it to you.
00:20:01
And so then you have to start getting more and more specific about the things that you talk about and focus. More on the customers you want and. The actions and how you can help them. And that starts to be a little bit harder to do. You have to know a lot about your customers before you can really drill.
00:20:20
Into that, I think. Yeah, and I think when I think. About people talking about this, it can feel overwhelming if I'm not just writing about the same thing over and over and over. I'm trying to, like you said, get those different parts, but then they feel like, what else do I say about it? Right?
00:20:41
So they feel this place of like it's already been said. Now I feel stuck. Right? Well, that's why I tell all my clients, make sure you have a piece of paper next to your desk, because you're getting questions all day and every one of those questions is like a different spin on the different thing. Sorry, I hate to break this to you.
00:21:01
Nobody goes to your blog and reads the whole thing. They're not doing that, nor are they going to your social media and reading all of your posts. So you have these little snippets in. Time where you can explain different elements of it. And, yeah, there can be a ton of overlap, but you're talking about it's like if you're blindfolded and you're putting.
00:21:21
Your hands on the elephant, you're still. Talking about the elephant, but as you put your hands on it, it feels different. Maybe there's an ear, maybe there's the trunk, and you're just describing the elephant. In different ways over and over and over again. And as people come into the conversation.
00:21:38
At different places, they're making a decision about whether or not it fits for them. And they don't know that you've talked about the elephant for six years, because it doesn't matter. They're here today and this is what they're finding. Does that make sense? That's why I'm like you just answer the questions again and again.
00:21:59
But maybe the question sounds a little different this time. And I say this because marketing is changing every day we're in this really disrupted time in marketing right now that unlike when I started my business seven years ago, you could kind of say the same thing. And right now, ever since, COVID it's. Been all bets are off. The online space is changing very rapidly.
00:22:24
Not everybody's industry is like that. So sometimes this is the solution, this is what we do, this is the solution. But how people approach those problems differs a great deal. And that's the thing. I really encourage people to get into.
00:22:40
The weeds around some things and don't. Worry if they're getting a solution from. The blog, they're not going to go do it. They're still going to hire you because. They don't want to do it.
00:22:51
Whatever your service is, they don't want to do it. They want to hire somebody, but they want to know that you get them. Yes. So a lot of what you're talking. About is like that you understand your customers and it's the same thing on.
00:23:04
Social media, it's the same thing wherever. In networking, people want to know that you get them, that you're listening. And that's the key. You use the specific words that your. Customers are searching, but then what makes it successful is that taking a stand on something and talking about it.
00:23:25
Yeah, well, there's the one piece of bringing them in, but then what's happening when they get there? So when you say, taking a stand.
00:23:35
For example, my most popular blog post of all time was when I ranted. About ClickFunnels and it happened because I. Had helped so many people who did not have the $100 a month, which now it's $200 a month to start. They didn't have that money for their business. And it was really hard to work, and it's kind of broken.
00:23:58
So there are all these problems. And I finally was like, you know, I'm just going to write about this. And then it got this amazing response. And so then I would go to different SEO platforms, and I'm like, well, you should add this and you should add this. And then I was like, oh, I'm doing know.
00:24:12
And I would just go in and kind know. I go into that post a lot, and I kind of update it and make sure it's current. And now it's ranked number one for ClickFunnels reviews. And it's negative. Like, it's a negative review.
00:24:24
I've had former employees email me and be like, yeah, it's totally all right.
00:24:30
I was in a documentary that hasn't been released yet because I was one of the few people that was like, well, you don't really need sales funnel software. You need a good sales process first because nobody's talking about it. Nobody talks about that. And that's what I mean. If you're doing something or you have a position that differs from other people.
00:24:52
Oftentimes, especially as women or small business. Owners, we tend to hide that, even though that's what's special about us is that we have a thing that we say that people resonate with that nobody else is saying. But you're like, oh, gosh, if I say that, what's going to happen over people that think I'm weird? Or is this too different? And the answer is, it's not.
00:25:17
It's just not. Or is it too negative? When I think about it, I actually think about this process a lot. Because when people come into work with me, like in my membership or the incubator or something, I'm like, they get all amber. I'm incapable of not just being me.
00:25:37
Sometimes you get amber at a nine. Sometimes you get amber at a six. Just depends on the energy, right? But it's always that. But then when I think about often what I'm putting out on social or sometimes the podcast, although I'm pretty like, I'm myself, right?
00:25:52
But I was like, yeah, I'm very unfiltered. And then when I'm thinking about putting stuff out on social, there's a filter that comes on of like, don't be an asshole, and people are going to get pissed. And I'm like, I don't have the energy to listen to some crazy person on social media tell me why I'm an asshole. And I'm like, I know I can be an asshole. That's the kind of thing.
00:26:15
But like you're saying, then that could be what's special and brings you in. And more and more I'm embracing that idea because I do know it's true. It's absolutely true. Another girlfriend of mine who she started a newer business. She wrote a negative review about a very popular product in the therapy world.
00:26:35
And it is 100% true. They have so many people that feel the same and it got her a lot of success because she was willing to put it on the line. And I will say when she did. That a few years ago, I was like, boy. I was like, you got some balls.
00:26:51
There because I got a steel pair, girlfriend. Oh, she does. I was like, because I just thought, god, I can't take the emails or I don't want to deal with that. Right. But there is something to that.
00:27:05
There is something to like you said. It'S being known for something. What differentiates you? That's the whole piece. Is there's going to be people where.
00:27:13
That resonates for them, right? Well, that's the thing. And we have this false sense of permanence. When I think about social media, it's like people look at it for like 5 seconds and then it's gone from their yeah, forever. I mean, I hear you about the trolls because I had a troll on YouTube for a long time and I'm.
00:27:33
Like, this is just because of my. Business name, isn't know Women Conquer Business. It brings out these emotions among some of the fellas out there. Not all of you, not if you're listening to this, but some of the fellas, they don't like know. And that's why when people are like, do you work with men?
00:27:50
I'm like, yes, but you have to. Like the business name because I've had people come out and say, I'm never sending you a client because of your business name. And I'm like, what? Okay. And it's because they have these perceptions about what it means without actually asking.
00:28:05
So when it comes to our websites or social media, most of the people, if they disagree, they're just going to be like, not for me. And they move on. And then the people who are like about it, they're not your people either. Like the guy who said I'm never going to send you clients on the inside. I was like, oh God, I wouldn't want to work with anybody who likes you either.
00:28:28
It was at a speaking engagement and he was sitting next to me and he was just like argumentative the whole time, wouldn't let me finish. And then he said that and I was sort of like, oh God, you're kind of an ass. I don't really want to work with you either. Oh my gosh. We have to kind of put those things in perspective.
00:28:45
I mean, it's not like I've ever. Had somebody from ClickFunnels say, well, it's not true because yeah, you really can't add a coupon code without going in and breaking doing some code. I mean, there's all kinds of things that are kind of weird about ClickFunnels because it was true from my perspective. And I wasn't being cruel. I.
00:29:06
Was just saying, it's not for these people. It's for these people. They can't come back and get me with anything, it's my opinion. I think sometimes we are scared of. This unknown person who could come back, like the backlash.
00:29:22
And it's like, I haven't seen it. To the level that I thought I would. And I say some things sometimes that. Are to me, they shouldn't be controversial. But for other people they are.
00:29:32
And it's because there's this narrative out there around what marketing is. And I'm like, yeah, I know. It doesn't really have to be like that. You don't have to be a bro marketer, like ultra masculine sales funnels and grinding it out. You don't have to do that.
00:29:47
You can do things differently and still get your message out there. But it's considered like this counterculture argument. And it's because most of the marketers that I hang out with help companies. That are very big, but all the. Marketers who help small business owners, for the most part, if you're not working with an aJency, many of those folks.
00:30:07
Are kind of trying to get affiliate. Income and they're selling a particular software, things like that. And it confuses business owners a lot. If you're just getting started and you. Don'T know how marketing works, it's very.
00:30:22
Confusing and you feel like you have to do all of these things that. You don't really have to do. Yeah. And when it gets overwhelming, I think people are just like, okay, I give up. I just don't have it in me.
00:30:34
Like you said, it's that one thing, like, either going to hire it out. Or you're going to ignore it. Right? Yeah. I mean, the big thing that happened for me, it was a big AHA moment.
00:30:44
About six waited September. How did that happen? So it's been maybe about a year. Ago, actually, and I had a run of clients. I have a lot of government contracts where they send me clients.
00:31:00
And I had a run of clients who were like, well, I don't really understand marketing. I don't get how I can post. Something on Instagram and that'll bring me business. And I was like, how do I explain marketing in a way that they're. Going to understand how it works?
00:31:16
And so I created a whole framework around it so that business owners could make the connection that marketing is supporting your business goals. I mean, that's fundamentally what it is. It's getting the word out about the things that you care about, and then. You have so many choices about how. You do that, it's unbelievable.
00:31:34
And one of them is SEO, and I love SEO because it's like putting money in the bank. Like, you do something and then like that ClickFunnels review. I mean, I think that was like three years ago, and I'm still getting. Reaping the benefits of that just from. This one moment in time where it's like, god, I'm so tired of ClickFunnels.
00:31:54
And I wrote this article, and I. Put all these cat memes in it. I just made it super fun. I just had a good time with it. And then it was kind of I was done with it.
00:32:04
And then all of a sudden, it got all this attention. And I think the same thing can. Happen for any business owner if you're willing to go out on a limb. And say, hey, this is what I care about, and here's why. And it's not the same as what.
00:32:16
Other people are saying, right? And then you just let the chips fall. Well, and I think what you just said made a good point. We're not talking about being diversive or being contrary for the sake of being contrary. We're talking about talk about what matters to you even, and especially if it is the opposite of what everyone is saying, because people want to hear that they're craving.
00:32:40
So many people are having that conversation anyway, but they feel seen when they're like, oh, yes, okay, here's this person who's saying what I feel like. I feel seen. And then they're like undying love for you and want to work with you forever.
00:32:58
Tis the goal. Tis the goal.
00:33:03
And that can happen for anybody. We all have things that we are. Doing as business owners that I wrote. My article because I was tired of fixing problems that didn't have to exist. And everybody has that in their business.
00:33:17
You're solving problems all the time that. You'Re like, if X, then this problem wouldn't happen anymore. If this were true, then I wouldn't have to deal with this now. Certainly people are still going to buy. ClickFunnels, and even in the article I said, might fit for you if XYZ.
00:33:34
But my goal was to be like. If you're just starting out, you don't need to dump a bunch of cash on a sales funnel. You got to figure out who your customers are. You're not going to make a pile of money doing affiliate marketing. You need an email list.
00:33:47
There are just some different things that a lot of business owners don't know. The thing about search is we're searching. For things all the time. Like, 90% of people are looking you up before they ever call you, before. They ever engage with you in any way.
00:34:06
So you want to have a Google business profile. If you don't know what that is. You go to Google.com Business and you set it up. You just put in your business name. It's linked to your website phone number if you have one.
00:34:20
You don't need a business location. You can do it with an online business. You can add some products. You can add your services. It's like the first place where you.
00:34:29
Can be like, here's what I do. And ask for reviews. And it can increase your leads by up to 5% if you fill it. Out and keep it in your calendar. Where like every year I'm going to look at this and as things change.
00:34:43
I'm going to change it and I'm. Going to update it and make sure that I have pictures and all kinds of stuff. It's like Google is still the number. One search engine out there. So take advantage of the free space.
00:34:56
And then from there as you get. More active and build your business more, then you can start doing things like worrying about blog posts and about your website. But these things take time and you. May need to hire somebody. You don't have to do it yourself.
00:35:13
But you can is the thing. SEO is very accessible again, almost every website builder has an SEO tab inside. The settings for every page where you just put in a title and a. Description and you use the words that. Describe what's relevant on the page and that are also used by customers to search.
00:35:35
And fundamentally that's what SEO is and. That'S how you just get started with communicating it and then after that it can get more sophisticated. Then we start getting into things like. If you have a podcast, make sure. You have a transcript and you add that to the page and that can.
00:35:54
Help people find you. And if you post your videos to YouTube, YouTube is I think the number three or four search engines and it's owned by Google. So you want to make sure that you do certain things because then your videos will show up and you'll show up in mean there's all different kinds of things as you go further and further down the rabbit hole. But basically if people are giving you. Free space, you have to claim it.
00:36:18
As a business owner and that's really where it starts. Okay, so I thought YouTube was the. Number two search engine, is it? Not anymore. Did it change?
00:36:29
It's kind of know and it depends on age. So among people younger than us, so. Like Jen, Z, maybe younger millennials, they. Search on reddit and I'm like that makes sense. That actually totally once you said reddit I was like, oh yeah, that makes sense.
00:36:51
I know. And Google's even starting to prompt for that. Like you'll look something up and how it does that predictive text on what's coming and it's like you can look something up and then it's like reddit, the keyword is reddit and so you can search reddit threads and stuff. I think that's crazy because I've been on reddit a lot. I know, which so much garbage out there, which just means we're old.
00:37:18
I was like, that's like searching Twitter, I just don't understand that at all. That's how it feels to me. But the good news is I have people in my life who love reddit so they'll go do that research for me. Yeah, well there was a day last. Year or like a block of time.
00:37:35
Maybe a month where TikTok was higher than Google in terms of search engines and that's crazy. And a lot of it that people don't understand is most of TikTok's users are not here in like they're not in North America, they're in other countries. So when it ranks for that, my next question is like but like who's using cause like that's the thing you have to get in the weeds on some of that stuff. But the thing that's exciting about that so Reddit and TikTok and Pinterest and YouTube, they've traditionally oh, and LinkedIn as well. Yeah.
00:38:12
Google hates Facebook, so good luck. You're not going to show up in search if you post things on Facebook. They're changing it now so that Instagram videos will now be cataloged and stuff, but indexed so you can get credit for what you do on social media. It's just nicer to have it on places that you own the property that. You I mean, and that's the thing.
00:38:38
YouTube video, you always have a link back to, your know, Pinterest. You can do Pins to promote what's up there, but it still has to. Link know to the know the website. That's the main thing. But yeah, I mean, people are searching.
00:38:53
Everywhere, but you don't have to be everywhere. That's like the other thing is you. Just have to be where your customers are. So don't go run out and start your Reddit account unless you're working with Zennials. You don't need to go do that.
00:39:10
You don't need to be on TikTok unless your people are there or you think TikTok is really fun and you can find a few people. But people jump on all these bandwagons and you can get a lot of SEO credit. You can get a lot of marketing. Credit if you just stick to the platforms where your people are. Yeah, well, and I think it's that.
00:39:31
Balance of most people are in a. Lot of places, but what are they there for? Right? Like if I'm going to TikTok, I'm not going to buy something. I'm going to be entertained by people to dance and really snarky thirst traps.
00:39:53
Like that's what I'm looking.
00:39:57
For, cooking videos. Are you not? I don't that's no, I do that on Facebook. Weirdly. Well, actually some come up on others.
00:40:05
Every platform has a different I buy a shit ton of stuff off Instagram and Facebook though. Like I'm telling you, this is a total aside that has no relevance on what we're talking about. No, it does have relevance though. Here's the thing. So there are some people who put.
00:40:19
No credibility into their website and then. They put all their time and energy into social media. Not understanding that a couple of things. One, they're not transactional channels for the most part. Like the exceptions are pinterest.
00:40:35
At one point it was like 30% of people on Pinterest are looking to. Buy something, which is really unusual. Most of the time people just want to dork around on social media they're just messing around. They're not there to buy something. Although now that Instagram has added products and you can buy stuff, that's been a game changer.
00:40:52
But that's not local businesses, small local businesses. Instagram and people do go there to. Buy things if it's local, especially. But people put so much effort into social media when that's just brand awareness. And really, most of the time, that's what it is.
00:41:09
You're just telling people, hey, I exist. I'm still open. And then you still have to bring them in. Yeah, you still have to bring them in. And one of the things that brings.
00:41:19
People in is search. And a lot of it is because. You'Re talking about what people care about. Yeah, that makes sense. Well, there's a couple of things you said that are interesting because one, just.
00:41:30
Two oh, my God. There was literally 1.75 things that I found intriguing about what you said recently. One good thing in the last several minutes, 45 minutes. Yeah. One is I had the thought of this was kind of a pet peeve of mine.
00:41:47
Because, again, even if you understand SEO, you get to a point in business where you're too busy to deal with that shit, and you want like, come on. I have hired ever since my first website, I have always hired somebody to do my websites because I am capable. But that's not a good use of my time. Not once when I go into my websites and I start to add pages or do things, not once is any of that description or page stuff filled out. And I'm like, Come on.
00:42:18
So I think I'm just going to say that for people who've hired professional web designers. Now, there's two sides to that, because I do know a lot of web designers. One is, was that included in the contract? Did they say they would do that to me? The friggin description, though, is so basic.
00:42:32
Like, come on, give me something, right? You literally could copy and paste it from the damn page. But okay, fine. But I'm saying this to people, because just assuming that you've hired a professional to design your website doesn't mean they've done any, literally any, not even copy and paste SEO for you. So to be aware of that and to either have that included or hire.
00:42:57
Somebody who does SEO, right? If you don't have the time to do it yourself. The other thing, this is one of those random things, but because it's my show, I get to do it.
00:43:11
See, Jen brings out the full Snark. In me back in the day, like. 100 years ago when I started business. Why are we making ourselves old in this episode? That really fucked.
00:43:20
I'm not for yourself, I guess. I just had my birthday yesterday, so I'm feeling actually, I love my birthday, so I don't know why. Anyway, that's tanJential. That's a little ADHD moment there. So back 100 years ago, I remember talking to this person who was like an SEO expert, and he was like.
00:43:42
Oh. It'S easier to do SEO when you're a local business, because my first business was a brick and mortar, right? And then I had started an online business, and so he was giving me and he's he was basically like, you don't even do the Google listing for online businesses. He's like, because it doesn't matter. It's almost impossible to have any kind of ranking as an online business owner.
00:44:07
And again, that was a long time ago, but still. And you know what's so funny? It's things like that where you learn it, and you have to realize, like, one, things change over time. Two, probably he was always wrong. Probably he was always mean.
00:44:21
Probably not when it comes to the Google business profile, it used to be Google Local or something like that. It had about a hundred Google listing or something. Yeah, it was something that had something. No, I agree. I agree.
00:44:33
So I never did one for any of my online businesses. Yeah, you should. Okay.
00:44:42
Yeah, I mean, now you don't have to have your address in there, and now they've made it. So, like mine, I have an address, but it's inside of a co working space, and you can do that, and it has the address, and then it says inside Vita Coworking, which is my co working space, so they know they. Have to go there, and then I'm in there. Right? So it has changed, but then those things get burned in our brain.
00:45:10
And then when somebody comes along and says, well, no, then we have to think about it, like, well, who was right then? And that's what's so hard is people don't realize marketing is changing so rapidly, that what was right a few years ago isn't necessarily right. It's kind of like the way online marketing is. It's almost like I'm trying to think. Of, is salt good for me or bad for me?
00:45:32
Sometimes I read that salt is terrible, and then other times I read that salt is we don't have enough grapes, mineral. It can be really confusing, but you should have the titles and descriptions in there for every web page. That's really your top layer of SEO, because that's what shows up on Google. So when you're doing a Google search and you look and you see, like, a title and a description, yeah, that's. Really what we're talking about.
00:46:01
So a lot of times, people don't fill that out, and then it's just like home. And the first sentence of whatever web page, it what? Because Google will then pull it, and. It'S not telling anybody what's on there. And then you're like, well, SEO doesn't get nobody's coming to my website.
00:46:18
Exactly. When people say that to me, I'm like, well, are you sending them there? Like, when you're posting on social media, are you doing anything to say, oh. By the way, I have this website. You should visit it and then what's going on on that actual website itself.
00:46:34
Like, what are you talking about? Because you can rank with a simple four page website. You don't have to even have a blog and you can rank for that. Absolutely. My brick and mortar came up, number one, organically.
00:46:46
And I did not have a blog or anything, but we were around for a long time. We got good referrals. We were just whatever. So actually, me bringing up that thing wasn't inherently selfish. It was actually me letting you all know this very important thing.
00:47:04
And that's the thing. Technology changes. We need to remember that that stuff changes. But like you said, once, it's kind of in our mind, I've already moved past it. It's like coming back to it.
00:47:15
Which is why you mentioned this earlier. That is why I have those annual CEO days, because you do have to have a designated time to kind of. Go back to stuff and have that. Be part of the list to review those kinds of things. Because I can't tell you how many clients I work for that I go search them because I want to get some information, do some research or whatever.
00:47:38
And then I'm like, oh, your about page is gone and the link is broken and this is happening, and this is just on a cursory look, because how often do we go with fresh eyes and do that for ourselves? But no, it was helpful because I do agree with you. I think at the time what he told me was true. And the thing is, my Google listing helped my brick and mortar, so know it was a good profile. Like you said, you get reviews and.
00:48:04
Everything, which can cut both ways when. You say asshole things online to be but still, it's still a good idea. You can do all kinds of things. So, like, there's A-Q-A section in the Google Business Profile, and you can precede that. So guess what I did a couple of weeks ago?
00:48:24
I did what I told everybody else to do, and I went to Chat GPT and I was like, well, what are the big questions that people ask when they hire a marketing consultant? And it gave me a list of the ten questions, and I was like, okay, doesn't apply. Doesn't apply. These apply. And then I went in and I added them as questions and answers to my Google Business Profile in the hopes that it will drive more traffic or that people will see.
00:48:48
I love that the expertise is and things like that. The thing about saying that it doesn't apply to an online business, and this is fundamentally where I differ from many. Colleagues, is I'm like, So what? Yeah, the Google Business Profile is at. Its most effective in your immediate area.
00:49:05
So within 20 miles of whatever address you put in, whether it shows up or not. That's where it's most potent, right? So unless you live in Antarctica, you probably have some people that you could help around you, even if it is an online only business. What we do or what we tend to do is we're like, well, no, I want to be everywhere. And it's like, well, but wouldn't it.
00:49:28
Be nice if there were some people, if there was just this area that you know that you would attract and you might be visible? And so people tend to go for. The gold ring when it's like, well, you could start with the brass one. Yeah, you don't have to go platinum first day. Don't say no to potential customers because you're chasing the big rainbow.
00:49:53
That's the thing, is, you can conquer your local area first and then worry about everybody else after that. And that's the thing. Taking advantage of all these little free spaces, it's important. It's like I tell people, set up all your social media profiles so you claim them, and guess what they ask you? They ask you for your website and a description of your business and your business name.
00:50:20
That all counts toward your digital profile. It's all SEO, it's search engine optimization. Right? It's the link back. And like you're saying, it also gives you credibility that you're a real thing.
00:50:32
You're a real thing. And then you just pin a post to the top that says, thanks for finding me on Instagram. I'm most active on LinkedIn or YouTube or whatever. But you've claimed the space. In some industries, there are competitors who will take it, and I don't see it a lot in coaching and consulting, but there are some industries where that happens.
00:50:55
So claim your space and that'll do. You a lot of good. I mean, people don't understand social media. Is hard if you don't know who your customers are, if you don't know how to talk to them. Like doing SEO and kind of getting your feet wet, talking about things on.
00:51:12
Your website that's safe. You start broadcasting a bunch of stuff and you don't really know what you're talking about, that can actually hurt you. More than spending some time practicing, describing. What it is that you do again and again and attracting people through there. You have to help people for a while before social media gets easier.
00:51:36
You have to know who they are, what colors sometimes that they respond to, what types of mediums they respond to. A lot of people start with social media and they have to learn a bunch of stuff, and then they go. Back and make the other aspects of. Marketing when really there's really more of. An order of operations you can go.
00:51:57
Through before you get to social media. It's just that it's free and everybody talks about it. Exactly. Well, yeah, you feel you should or, I'm supposed to do this, right, right. But, yeah, I appreciate you talking about the local thing.
00:52:10
It's really interesting because I was brick and mortar for 13 years, and now I've been online for over six. I mean, with an online business only, but now I'm just totally online businesses. But it's interesting that I talk to so many online business owners who will tell you they do not have any local clients. I know. It's like you smiled.
00:52:38
You knew I was going to say that, right? I was like, how the fuck did you know I was going to say that? I talked to so many people, and it's so fascinating to me. I talk to people who are like, well, I'm just not worried about that. And I'm like, but they're right there.
00:52:51
They're right there. They're the easiest people to fall in love with you and want your stuff, right? Because it's so much easier. Well, and this is something I talk to people about. So my background when I was in the.com world was Internet operations and marketing, right?
00:53:05
So I did that kind of stuff. I love talking about marketing, but like you said, it's a broad subject. And that's why I love talking when you were saying stuff, I was like, so Jenius. You need to have to me an online marketing plan and a community marketing plan, especially if you are a brick and mortar. But even if you're not, because those become your people, your support system.
00:53:28
Not just customers, your support system, your Cheerleaders, sometimes your customers. And it's just this way of building this credibility. And also, I don't know, just getting. More people who know your shit. Because it's like, top of mind, you know what I mean?
00:53:45
I'll see somebody and then all of a sudden, inevitably, I'm in a conversation with someone else. And then I'm like, oh, yeah, you need a marketing deep dive. Of course. I just forgot the name of your signature, like an marketing Blueprint. Marketing Blueprint.
00:54:00
Thank you. Thank you. I was like, oh, God. And then that's the thing where I think all of this. That's why I appreciate how you approach it.
00:54:10
Because when we talk about SEO, like you said, it's helping people. It's talking to your customers, capturing what they say before I even knew. I love when an expert tells you to do something. And I've been doing it all these years where I have a piece of paper and I write down what people say. To this day, I've been working with my ideal client for over a decade, and I still will write down phrases because they will word it different.
00:54:37
And then I'll say I'm going to do either a podcast and or probably both. Ideally a social media thing around buffering, like ADHD people when their brain starts buffering. Because I had a client word it that way. And I don't know that I thought of it that way. And like you're saying that's the SEO.
00:54:57
Of every client I have, they talk. About it a little bit differently. And so that's the intriguing thing.
00:55:08
To me, it's a hopeful message when you talk about it because it's really making it very easy and approachable in that regard. I think if you're a good listener, SEO is easy. Man, they're telling you. It's just like, oh my gosh, they're just telling me all the things. You'll never run out of things to talk about.
00:55:25
If you're listening to what your customers say, and I know that you work with a lot of people who are in therapy. I'm not saying commit HIPAA violations. You can Jeneralize anything. You know what I mean? You could talk about things in a way that you're not breaking any sort of privilege or anything.
00:55:42
It's just like you have to let people know that you are solving their problems and you're listening. And fundamentally, that's what service based businesses are doing. People come to us all the time and they're like, oh, I'm struggling. I can't figure this thing out. And then we help people see what's possible for them.
00:56:00
And if you think about your SEO as possibilities and you think about your marketing as sharing your passion, all of a sudden these things become a lot easier. You're answering questions all the time. Do that now in your social media. Do it on your website. If there's something that you really want.
00:56:15
Make sure that you ask for it on your website, because people aren't mind readers. And when I spoke over the last week about how to set up a marketing strategy to support your goals, it's. Like, your website is the perfect place. It's the place that you own. I work with business owners all the time, and they're like, well, I kind of want to do wholesale.
00:56:34
I'm like wholesale. Look at your website. I don't see anything about wholesale. Tell me about what it is that you want and we write it down. And I'm like, okay, now I would like you to have a page on your website that talks about this thing that you want.
00:56:46
This is where your hopes and dreams goes on your website. Who do you want to work with? We'll describe them and put that on your website. And we don't think of it in. These ways because you talk to a.
00:56:56
Lot of marketers or web developers and they're like, you need an about page, you need a services page. And it all sounds so dumb and boring when really it's about how are you going to help people, what questions do they ask? And how can you make it very clear about who you help and who you don't help? I have all kinds of messaging on my website that's kind of like, yeah, no, I'm probably not for you. If this and this and that's what's really important.
00:57:26
You can't just market to everybody. And that's why I say start in your local community. I mean, most of my clients are local, like. I said, I have government contracts and. They send me clients.
00:57:37
I mean, how great is that?
00:57:41
And then I freak out because people are like, oh, I've seen you before. I'm like where?
00:57:49
From the sidewalk while peering in. That's part of the RBF problem I have is I'm like where what? And then I'm like, oh, damn it. My marketing is working. And you're like, questioning it.
00:58:02
That's like the inner dialogue that I have. But when you go out there, when you show up consistently, that works. And sometimes the easiest place to show up consistently is in your local community. And it doesn't matter how big you. Are, you're never too big for the.
00:58:21
People who have businesses around you. At least I don't think so. The people who are listening to this. Show.
00:58:29
I think even large corporations, if they had a local customer, they wouldn't be like, oh, no, don't come to my grocery store or. Basic. Well, I'm going to say if you this is well in line with know, Pat Flynn. Does local meetups? Right?
00:58:50
Like, if you're not bigger than Pat Flyn, then you should fucking still be focusing on some local know, because you think about somebody at his.
00:59:03
Know isn't he doesn't need that. You know what I mean? No, he wouldn't have to do it. But it's the low hanging fruit in my book. I just think it's so much easier.
00:59:13
Now. Granted, like you said, you could be living in a place where you're like, I live in a town with 400 people, and the only business is my local automotive shop and I sell kitten sweaters I don't know. Online. Yes, but that local automotive shop, that guy has friends. Exactly.
00:59:35
See, that's the thing. We have all these I don't do the mind stuff, but we limit ourselves. I'm not a therapist, but I'll play one on this podcast. We limit ourselves all the time, and we say, oh, they can't afford it without asking them, without telling them our prices. We decide if they can afford it or not.
00:59:58
We decide that, oh, I'm in this. Small town and nobody here can help me. But we don't ask or we just limit things instead of saying, you know what? This is available to me. Google's giving me free space.
01:00:10
Screw it. I'm going to take it, and I'm going to run with it, and then I'm going to see what happens. That's the thing. You can't decide where your people are and how it works. Sometimes you just have to be open to it, and you have to take advantage of what's being offered to you.
01:00:26
It's like people who don't join the local chamber of commerce, it's like, why they're going to give you a profile and you can put all your information in there. You don't have to go to every chamber meeting. But they have friends. They have people that they talk to. Exactly.
01:00:43
Well, and this is the thing, right? When I think about because especially I do a lot of work around being more strategic and discerning because of sustainability, like, what's sustainable, right? And so when you're thinking about, like, you're saying on social media or wherever else you're going that you're targeting where your audience is, that's a strategic choice. This what we're talking about now is being open to understanding that there's still value in showing up to something where it may not seem like, oh, I'm not going to go there because there's no clients for me, or whatever. And again, you discern whether that's worth your time or not or what's the reasoning, but realizing, like you said, people know people.
01:01:24
I mean, I've gone to things. I went to a networking thing, and it was only two people showed up besides me a year later, that person, because I didn't meet them or talk to them after that, saying this for my people, you'll see what's next. And that person and their partner ended up seeing me long term for a couple's work. And I just was in Miraval last September for my epic dream vacation, like, with my friend Melina Palmer. I've always wanted to go to Miraval ever since I was a teenager because Oprah would talk about it all the time and it was on my bucket list.
01:02:06
Yeah. And so we went and I had the most amazing time and did not work or open my computer at all. That's not what I was there for. And ended up meeting this couple that started coaching with me. So my little joke is, like, my.
01:02:19
Trip to Miraval got paid for because it was because you know why? Because I had a fucking business card in my purse. Exactly. Because you're open to it. You're like, I'm not going to work here, but if somebody comes by, I've got something to give them.
01:02:33
Yes, exactly. And that's the thing. You have to be open and aware. And that's the thing. You don't have to go to all of these.
01:02:42
You have to be on your Google business profile all the time. But why not take 30 minutes and fill it out? And then that's it, it's done. You check that box and that's the thing. The thing about online marketing is you can't put all your eggs in one basket.
01:02:59
There are so many people I meet. That are like, all social, and it's. Like, well, no, there are a lot of dimensions to your marketing and a lot of different ways that you can do it. And I mean, I still remember the. Meeting for one of my government contracts.
01:03:11
There were three of us there, and the person who brought me into the. Meeting stood up at the end of. The meeting, and we're there with, like, big partners in my local community, stood up, slammed her computer shut, and said, I'm not getting any clients out of this, and walked out. And the other two of us we're still in doing the program? Have I gotten years long contracts out of it?
01:03:36
No. Have I made several thousand dollars since joining and helping the businesses? Yes.
01:03:45
We all have to opt in and. Opt out of what's in it for us. All I can say is when you have a big client, that's like a nut and this client is a nut, and they have referred me out to big things. So even on the surface, it doesn't. Look like maybe the best thing.
01:04:04
But if you're self limiting on things, you don't know what it could lead to. And sometimes you have to take advantage of the things that are right in front of you and then see what.
01:04:15
You know. Like our good friend Abby Herman will talk about pillar content. She did an episode on the podcast and I'll link it in the show then. People have been talking about this for years. You need something that's on your stuff that if Facebook went away or Instagram or wherever you're like, that you would still have your list, your following, your credibility.
01:04:41
I mean, look at how everyone was freaking out about TikTok for a hot minute when they thought they were going to shut down TikTok. And they're like, but this is how I make all my money. Where else can I thirst trap again, I think there are just fundamental thoughtful business practices and then like you said, you've got to use discernment and kind of figure out. But to me, I think the other piece, and I'm going to say because this is the piece that I usually work on with people, is when you're feeling so overwhelmed already, how then even though we know that this is so effective and this will actually help you get more clients and leads, how do you tackle that when you're feeling that overwhelmed? And I think there's a lot of value in taking a day or if you can't do a whole day less, but I would say just a day where you take that step back and like you said, look at what is my messaging?
01:05:37
Is there congruence here? Where can I shore up things or just edit stuff? I remember in the beginning of my business, like 13 years ago or whatever, about 13 years ago I would go through because I didn't have that many clients. And my daughter, every time she was sleeping, I was doing stuff and I would just tweak my profile or my messaging just a little bit. And it was amazing because even like dabbled in Google Ads because that used to be kind of what I did before.
01:06:08
And it was amazing. Sometimes just a small tweak of a sentence and all of a sudden I would get all these calls right. So I think there's value in taking that time, like because sometimes it feels like the person slamming the computer, it's not worth it, it's not worth it. And it's like this is worth it. And like you said, once you've done it, it's there for you.
01:06:28
Well, that's why SEO is great, right? Like, if you're totally overwhelmed, SEO is. Like money in the bank. You're like putting things in the savings account, and it will be there for you because it builds and builds. It may take Google three to six months to catch up with you, but.
01:06:44
Then it's just there. Yeah. You know what I mean? Whereas social media, it's so fleeting and it's there in front of somebody for like 30 seconds and then it's gone. There's no permanence.
01:06:57
So what I'm saying is, SEO is great because you're answering customer questions again and again, and it's there for you forever if you want it to be there, or you just edit it to be more accurate. Does that make sense? But it's not as fleeting. It's something that it has staying power and permanence, and you can edit it and make it more accurate, and it's something that can grow with you, and that's what's so important about it. I didn't know that I was writing.
01:07:26
A ClickFunnels article that was going to. Be pillar content, and now I make every excuse to link to it because people just go crazy for it. Part of marketing, too, is like leaning into what works. If you don't like to write and you don't want to learn about SEO, you've got to find somebody who can help you with that and build a strategy around it. Certainly pillar content is part of an.
01:07:48
SEO strategy that you can do, and. It can really help you with your thought leadership if you have certain things that you really speak to. You can have several pillars around each. Of the different service areas that you. Have or the ways that you help people or your methodologies, and that can really serve you.
01:08:07
That's how this can work if you want to do that. Or you can have a five page website that really speaks to your local community or to your customers or whoever it is, and that can work for. You just as hard. Yes, I love it. Thank you so much.
01:08:24
I'm sure when we started, people like I think people underestimate us all the time, but they're like those two goofy gals who are over there laughing hysterically or giving RBS. What did they know? But we're obviously this was so helpful. Really, though, I do appreciate again, it's. Such an approachable way that I think it's really going to resonate with so many people out there.
01:08:53
Obviously, I know behind the scenes because I work with Jen and the level of care, you say you're not a therapist, but I would be like if there was a marketing therapist. You are a marketing therapist because you're very understanding. But I've seen what you put together. The level of detail in your blueprint is insanely awesome, like exponential value. So I'm going to highly recommend that people head on over and check that out, but where else?
01:09:29
We will link to that, of course, but how do you want people to contact you? Stalk you? DM, you can't they just call you and no, that's not how it works, okay? You know, I don't even answer my own calls or emails. Why the hell would I answer yours?
01:09:47
Come on. So my website is womenconquerbiz.com, and there's all different kinds of ways to reach me there. I'm active on LinkedIn and Instagram and. Soon to be Reddit. I'm just joking.
01:10:05
You know that we have actually been taken over by Body Snatchers if either of us is on Reddit, doing.
01:10:15
Occasionally, you know, truly, if you are a YouTube person, up until January, for a year, I did weekly marketing. How to's if you want to see how, I teach, all kinds of things. So that's another place where you can find just I don't have the time to put a new video up every week anymore on YouTube because that takes a lot of effort. But you can find me in a lot of different spaces. But I'm most active on Instagram and LinkedIn these days.
01:10:42
Right? But a year of marketing content for free, people, this is the thing, right? We either have time or we have money. So you pick. You either hire her or you go watch those damn videos.
01:10:54
Okay? All right, thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much for having me on. It's been funny.
