Are You a Victim of the Fuckening?
You know the feeling. Like everything is going right and you’re on fire. Is it too good to be true?

Feels like it! Then the shit hits the fan and everything goes into the toilet. This is what I call the Fuckening. And it’s going to happen at some point. There’s no way around it.

But how you react to it can make a big difference. Will you fight it? Lean into it? Find a way to destress and move forward?

On this episode, I’m sharing a tongue-in-cheek meditation that gives you permission to roll with your challenges so you can work through the stress and enjoy that next weekend or day off without worrying that nothing is perfect. Because it won’t be, and that’s okay.

Listen in! And beware that there is a lot of adult language in this episode. It’s better listened to with earbuds in and/or away from little ears.

Welcome, welcome. Today’s episode is going to be a little bit different than usual. So if this is your first time here, know that this is a unique one. I also want to give the warning that although if you’ve come around, you know, there’s a lot of adult language that happens on this podcast. Today’s episode is especially foul of adult language. So you may want to push pause until you are in a place where you feel like that’s not a problem. Today, I wanted to share with you a meditation I wrote for all of those days, or all of those times in life that you’re going through, where you just think what the fuck. So my hope for you with today’s meditation is that one, it makes you chuckle or two, it speaks deeply to your soul, and gives you a little bit of peace. Because as I said, I like to help people with the emotional side of business. And you know, it’s not always sunshine and rainbows as we all know.

Amber Hawley 1:56
And so I’d like to share with you a meditation, based off a meme that I got that that spoke to my soul, called the fuckening. so here is the fuckening a meditation when your day is going really well, and you don’t trust it, and some shit finally happens. And there it is. The fuckening breathe in, breathe out you did not bring this on yourself. You just know better because life happens. Your partner was too agreeable. Your team was on top of their shit. And then Mercury goes into retrograde and there it is. The fuckening your tech stopped working and your automations become as inconsistent as your workouts during COVID. working, not working, working, not working, which makes you so insane. You want to throw something instead. Take a deep breath and scream a primal scream that lets out all that stress, rage. Breathe in, breathe out and scream. Feel all the fucks leaving your body.

Amber Hawley 3:31
Now imagine you’re feeling on top of your life. Your kids are listening to you. And you are done with your two dues by noon on a Friday. You take this opportunity to sit outside and soak up the sun and admire everything blooming. Feel the warm sun on your face. Notice the vivid colors of the flowers and plants growing in your yard. Listen to the birds chirping in the distance. Take it all in let your body relax and feel that weightless freedom of having nothing to do and nowhere to be. You think how nice it would be to have your chair in the shade. And you proceed to pick up the chair and move it across the yard. You feel the cool soft grass on your feet as you move towards the shade. And as you sat down your chair, there it is the fucking you’ve thrown out your back because your body isn’t used to lifting heavy objects. It’s used to sitting for 10 hours a day at your computer. Your weekend plans are screwed.

Amber Hawley 4:52
As the despair and frustration wash over you let yourself cry. A big A ugly snot dripping out your nose cry. You deserve it. Life can be bullshit sometimes. That’s it. Let the tears flow. Let all the sadness out. Until all that remains is the comforting understanding that this also means you don’t have to do shit all weekend, but lay in bed and binge watch murder mysteries while all your meals are brought to you breathe in, breathe out and cry. Feel all the feels float away. Now imagine that you are in a state of flow. You have the kind of energy and focus that’s as rare as a good ending to your favorite show. You are waking up early and getting so much done. Your house is clean. Your emails are answered. You’re making sales. And you are so happy you keep saying yes to people and going the extra mile. The days turn into a week. A week into two. You are on fire.

Amber Hawley 6:19
But wait. There it is. The fuckening suddenly you are dropping balls. People are frustrated with you. You are losing sleep. The energy and focus train from your body like money from your bank account at Target. Are you sick? Is it allergies? Please don’t let it be the vid. Close your computer and put on your PJs. Get into your cool, cozy bed and let the stress of others expectations fade away as you sleep. Tell yourself you don’t like anyone anyway, and allow yourself to sleep until you are ready to deal with reality again. Breathe in. Breathe out and sleep. Shake off the shoulds and sleep. As you ponder what all of this means, take solace in knowing that the fucking thing is indiscriminate. It’s not your karma. It’s not your mindset. It’s not the universe. It’s just life. Breathe in, breathe out and scream breathe in, breathe out. It’s just the fuckening. breathe in and breathe out.
