You are not going to believe what has happened. Life took quite the unexpected journey. From a hurricane that devastated my town and the whole Western North Carolina Region, a struggling immune system, to a whirlwind of minor yet traumatic events, things got hectic. This chaos led me to make the tough decision to pause this podcast, a move that turned out to be a blessing in disguise. It allowed me to put my health, family, and clients first, postponing everything else—including this podcast.
The Perfectionism Trap
The hiatus stretched longer than planned, thanks to the cunning perfectionism, a familiar ADHD symptom. "I won't do it until I can do it right," I kept telling myself, all the while avoiding the actual scheduling and doing. But here we are, finally back on track. Welcome back to the Easily Distracted Entrepreneur podcast. I'm your host, Amber Holly. Whether you're new or a long-time listener, welcome. Exciting Changes and Fresh Perspectives
As a therapist and business consultant for neurodivergent adults, I've had essential conversations about the unique challenges and advantages of neurodivergence. Realizing I wasn't sharing these insights beyond Zoom and face-to-face meetings, it was time for a change. Starting Wednesday, March 4th, weekly episodes are back. And yes, it's like Christmas in March, with a format shift towards shorter, focused episodes. Expect episodes lasting around 15 to 25 minutes, sometimes longer when needed.
The goal? Each episode should be immediately useful, offering practical advice for your ADHD brain. If something's not actionable now, it might slip away amidst the myriad of ideas we juggle.
Understanding and Intention
Another aim is to help you understand yourself better - your brain and its workings. Often, transformative change comes not from new strategies but from understanding why we do what we do. With this insight, you won’t just collect information; you'll gain tools you can apply in your business.
This means more intentional and centered content. Expect solo episodes, expert interviews, and sessions from our Inner Circle membership, all focusing on supporting neurodivergent entrepreneurs. The subjects range from everyday struggles, like managing finances and avoiding unnecessary expenses, to effective energy management and strategic planning.
